Just announced by Harley Davidson is their latest addition in the current crop of "retro" inspired machinery. The "Sportster 48" is 1200cc solo seated throw back to a free, laid back time... as far as I can tell... the video ad on the HD website would seem to suggest that if you buy the 48 (for just 7bux and change per day might I add) you will get girls, numbers, freedom... numbers, girls, numbers and magically have to ride in a sweater of some sort.

 

Harley make cool road machinery, the styling of this is no different... Low solo seat, chopped front fender, fat tyres, underbar mirrors and some (in my not so humble opinion) decidedly uncool stickers on the peanut tank. All in all it looks cool and is in the lower price range for Harley product... clearly aimed at a younger, male rider they may do OK with this one but for me it isn't their best "custom" style bike. Check it out at HD dot com for more info... no apparent word on power but it will no doubt be the same as the other 1200cc offerings.
