Yeah that's right you heard me, a diesel powered motorcycle... you know what else? It's turbo charged! Diesel powered motorcycles aren't a brand new idea or anything but this one seems like it makes a lot of sense. Built (and now on sale) by a Dutch company the T-800 runs a turbo diesel engine derived from the Smart 4-two car, it makes 45bhp and 74ft/lb of torque. This engine in a reasonably lightweight and I have to say good looking frame and bodywork should drag out some very reasonable fuel economy. There are only going to be 150 units released initially but I have no doubt that there will be a tweaked version making proper power... 60-80hp sorts of numbers in the near future.
If this happens then that combined with the high quality European componentry... Brembo Brakes, WP suspension etc. The EVA should be a valid competitor in the ADV market. Â Â
