The one Kawasaki tradition that remains unchanged for this incarnation is the braking ability. Any time you ride a Kawasaki sport machine you can expect braking performance that sets up some sort of physics anomaly creating reverse thrust capable of reversing earth’s magnetic field if not judiciously used. The ’09 600cc Ninja is no exception the brakes had fantastic feel and bring you from re-entry velocity to stationary with comfortable violence (even if that is a contradiction in terms). This performance is only aided by the improved front suspension setup although it does take a little getting used to after riding more dive oriented machinery.

All in all if you are looking for a track bike that you can use on the road the ZX6R is definitely a viable competitor. Before riding this bike I probably would have said “buy the Honda” but now... well let’s just say there is a real alternative for a genuinely street worthy track weapon, it’s a ninja and it is bright green... no stealth here just ride on in at high speed and smite the competition. Try it today... go on away with you!
