There are lots of different people in the world and it seems no matter how hard you try you end up as a ‘sort’ of person. Just trying to be different makes you the same as a billion other people doing the same ‘different’ things as you. Paint your jeans pink and wear a feather in your hair…sorry gotta be a least 16,000 other pink pants feather sorts out there. You’re the same, just give up and live in a box like the rest of us. Motorcyclists have the same problem, you choose the wrong bike and you’re suddenly living in a rectangle box when really you’re a rhombus ‘sort’.

The Triumph Bonneville is what I’d always thought was a prime example of this. I’d always thought that only a particular sort of person would buy a Bonneville. I imagine either an older chap or lass buying a Bonneville to relive their misspent youth or some distressed denim wearing thirty something latte sipping wannabe café racer high street flat foot. Now don’t get me wrong, plenty of people like them buy Bonnie’s. You know the ‘sort’, you’ve seen em. I always get a chuckle from the high street flat foot type. Normally male, normally has cool hair…normally rides like soppy moccasin.
